LIVERPOOL made an enquiry for whizkid Fabio Carvalho – but were told Fulham do not want to sell.
The Reds are one of a number of clubs keen on the 19-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.
Yet Championship leaders Fulham do not want to let the teen sensation go this month and are desperate to keep hold of him.
They see him as a key part of their promotion push and it would take an offer they could not turn down to sell him now.
Fulham would still love Carvalho to sign a new contract, which looks unlikely after the player rejected previous offers of improved terms.
But if he is to leave Craven Cottage, Fulham would prefer it to be when his deal expires in the summer, when they would be due a fee set by tribunal.
That is what happened with 18-year-old Harvey Elliott, who left Fulham in 2019 for Liverpool who were eventually told to pay £4million by a tribunal.
